Settling in…

The day before yesterday, after my 6 mile walk, I was worthless. I had played tennis everyday before then and it hit me… I didn’t feel well. I ached all over, so I slept almost all day. I went to Pete’s at 5 of course to meet Danielle and Rob. They left around 6:15 and Kaye (another home owner) showed up. I had the pleasure of getting to know her a bit over her dinner. I came home and had soup and went to bed around 9.

OK… at 6:30 in the evening last night I was ready to retire. The sun had set and it was dark. I am having a bit of internet trouble, so I had to spend the day up on the hill at my friends house working. I need to be able to get on the internet at my own pad, so I will have to work that out somehow. It’s was too windy and a bit chilly to go to the pub to work. (There is a great signal there). I had been bundled up all day in my sweat pants and sweat shirt. It got down to 52 last night – that’s colder here than at home for some reason.

I did break out the guitar yesterday and at least tune it.

I made myself some spaghetti for dinner, yummy! I settled in reading, “The Poisonwood Bible”… It’s starting off quite intriguing. I have several other books that I am reading, “Respectable Sins” and “A Bell Ringing in the Empty Sky, the Best of the Sun” (many short stories).

There is a quote in the front of the “Sun” compilation that I love…

“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves like locked rooms and like books that are written in a foreign tongue.  Do not now seek the answers which cannot be given to you because you would not be able to live them.  And the point is, to live everything.  Live the questions now.  Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing, live along some distant day into the answer.”

There is something to ponder!

It’s a beautiful day today… I am at the pub working, the view is amazing and the weather divine. Gordy just passed by on his four wheeler… They are going to hope town on the ferry and I am invited… ok… I’m out! I will take photos.
