Here is a different definition of faith: Faith is the willingness to look foolish. OK.. you’re gonna love this comparison. What happens when people get drunk? (I’m asking you, because I have NO knowledge of such a thing). What happens? They lose all inhibitions. They do things they would have never done, sober. So, if we are filled with the Holy Spirit, God will help us overcome our Godly inhibitions. There will be a boldness that compels us to take action. Do things we never would have done with out faith. We will care less about what people think and more about what God thinks.
“And don’t get drunk with wine, which leads to reckless action, but be filled with the Spirit” Ephesians 5:18
Here are some “foolish” things to consider… (I have several on this list)
- Tell someone you are sorry
- Forgive
- Fast
- Confess a sin
- Tithe
- Go on a mission trip
- Tell someone you love them
- Lead a small group (GO Sandi)
- Ask someone out
- Pray every day
- Pursue a new hobby
- Submit your resignation
- Submit your resume
- Go Back to school
You get the picture, the list is long make it yours…. I have several “foolish” things I need to do. Living in this place is just one of them. I’m just getting started.
