Tennis Anyone?

OK.. I passed by this tennis court weekly at least, having never set foot on it last year. Friday night at Pete’s Pub, I met the owner of the court, Joe. He invited me to play mixed doubles with him and his friends from the states. Joe is from Belgium.

So I walked 1 mile to go play meet them at the court, then played for 2 hours, then played a game of basketball to 5 and walked the 1 mile home… my feet were killing me.

Of course that didn’t stop me from walking back to the Pub at five to meet Danielle. The good news is Kay suggested I tape my feet for tennis next time I played. She put a diagram on paper… WOW… it worked! I played again today and played basketball, a world of difference. Then Joe gave me a bike to use while I am here, as well as a wind surfer… whoo hoo! I am set!

On my way to the courts this morning, Welly had cooked up some fish soup for breakfast. Of course I had to stop for some of that. Yummy!

Time to take a nap in the sun! It’s Pete’s at 6 for dinner… gotta rest up!

Local Night at Pete’s Pub

Went to a friend’s house and had wine and lobster for dinner. It was delicious. We talked about the pure spiritual feeling here. It is truly amazing. Then we walked down to Pete’s Pub for local’s night. Most everyone that lives in Little Harbour comes out to Pete’s on Friday night. Bryan Le Mar was playing guitar (a great musician who lives here and in Miami).
It’s a great night to discuss politics of the Island, road work, resolve conflicts and just get to know each other better. There are also new faces as well. Folks staying at the Abaco Club in Winding Bay, and on boats, anchored for the night or a couple nights.
Walking home is always so pleasant to me. It’s dark and so much follage. The road is rocking and unsure under your feet. I’m using my trusty iPhone as a flash light and to listen to some tunes, sometimes! Sometimes it’s just nice to listen to the waves and the wind through the rustling leaves. The moon is so getting close to full, so I almost didn’t need the flash light. The funny thing is, there is no fear… zero, nada! Nothing to be afraid of… pure peace!

God has his way…

It’s funny, how God has his way. I would never have chosen the events that recently led to a solution to which I had been praying. I am just glad I got it! Just when you think you have to be strong and figure out stuff on your own, you drop down and ask God to help, and walla … the answer appears. Even when you are looking for a different answer and help… and here is comes, God’s way! Interestingly enough a better answer. Imagine that!

Sometimes it is easy to miss the answer if you aren’t looking and waiting and practicing faith. It will show up, eventually. Maybe even when you have given up on the answer or chosen a different solution.

This is good news I tell you!

Things Changed in a Hurry!

A cold front moved in last night… the winds were gusting to 45 miles per hour during the night and today.  The temperature was down 25 degrees when I went for my four mile walk this morning.  It was a whopping 55 degrees, I am sorry but that is cold here and will not work.  Good news is … It won’t last long!

The wind knocked the power out on the internet all day.  So, on a day when I was inside all day, there was no internet, so I really got nothing done.  I did get a lot of rest, watched a few episodes of “Glee” and read a little.  I did not leave the house after my walk, at all!

Cathy made some soup for dinner and we watched, or should I say, endured a movie… Now I have internet.  Whoo Hoo!  It is 10:00 pm here and I am sleepy, so… I won’t get much done now.  But there is always tomorrow.

Nite Nite

Good Start to the day… maybe everyday!

Went to Bookies this morning at low tide to look for sea glass.  First piece I pick up is blue… great sign!  Blue is rare and every time I find one,  I believe God is smiling down at me.  I need that!  After about an hour of sea glass searching I took a swim.  The wind was down so the surf calm.  It was so refreshing.  Sea water will heal everything.  I am sure of it.

Took a shower outdoors when I returned, now heading to a friends for lunch.  I think it’s going to be a good day.   Had a fresh salad from Susan’s garden and a hamburger patty.  Went back to Cigatoo, where I am staying through tomorrow night and help wash the dingy.  Gonna get a little work done before head to the pub for a visit.  Beautiful day today, 80’s and sunny!

New Beginnings

No one can go back and start over but anyone and start today to produce a new ending.  The question really becomes, “Would you want to start over, if you could?”  There has more than likely been way more good in life in the past than things you would change, so I would venture to say that most of us would not like a “do over”!  Think about the things you wouldn’t have experienced and that is probably enough to stay where you are and … start from now!

Today is a new beginning… no denying that!  Every day is, really!  The way you start this year will determine how it will end.  It’s amazing how many people set goals at the beginning of each year, me included.  Most of those goals include things, position, or places.  All of which cost money, when really the things that make a difference in how your year will end cost nothing.  It really comes down to relationships and making them better.  It is time to make better choices, love more and judge less, forgive always and forget when you can,  develop new relationships and heal some old ones, remove bad habits and add new ones, decide to live a healthier lifestyle, help someone in need… the list goes on!

Start today and produce your new ending!  Happy New Year!  2012 is going to be a great year!
